Key items discussed at the September 2022 Council meeting included:
- Condolences to the family of Josephine Cooper
- A minute's silence in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
- Letter to be sent to all schools in the Shire to promote scholarships available through the University of Queensland School of Economics
- Application for material change of use for telecommunication tower on Uanda Station was approved
- Councillors to arrange meeting with Queensland Local Government Grants Commission at the LGAQ Conference in October 2022
- Letter of support to be provided for the proposed Commonwealth Postal Savings Bank, and will await further information on the proposal
- Approved the Housing Grant Program Policy – more information to be released soon on application process
- Page & Co Pty Ltd appointed as the contractor for Riverside Station
- Commencement of the Expression of Interest process for the construction of the Hughenden Offstream Water Storage Facility
- Council to submit an online submission to the State of Queensland Condolence Book for Her Majesty The Queen, and Council Officers will be available to support any community members who may need assistance to submit their condolences online
- Adopted financial report for August 2022 and Procurement Policy
- Will not renew contract for FM Radio 87.6 for broadcasting of TAB Radio after July 2023, and will investigate options for alternative broadcast opportunities
- Adopted the 2022 Interim Report from the Queensland Audit Office
- Pre-qualified suppliers of gravel and other related products were approved
- Two applications for vehicle concrete crossover subsidy were approved, and applications for the grid subsidy program to be re-tabled at the October 2022 meeting
- Three applications approved for community events donations, and one application for sporting excellence – donations provided totalling $1,850.
